being at the best age to absorb, was when haeryeong start taking extra lessons, her mother hiring the best tutors for her just so she would never lose out in this household. this extra lesson included learning different various forms of arts, from embroidery to painting and musical instruments, the latter being something she found herself really enjoying.

haeryeong was forced to perform at family events - despite her introverted self - you would often find her retreating from the crowd later on instead of staying around the mingle. She was never one for those loud yangban parties that her father loved holding.age 18:
if asked, she would have never admitted it, but the small encounter with a certain vicount ahn in that point of time would always hold a special place in her heart. Little did she know the encounter would have been the start of their blossoming friendship/ romance.

duke byun, byun eun chan, age fifty two.currently exiled, used to hold the position of minister under the ministry of works. Inherited the position from his father who passed away from old age ( some say it was duke byun’s doing of poisoning his own father, noone really knows the truth. ) he’s power hungry, greedy and self entitled. Isn’t really a good husband or the greatest dad. currently has two official wives, ong seulki, whom he married at an age of twenty six because of an arrange marriage and hwan heebin, whom he married six year later out of ‘love’ but we all know duke byun still spends most of his time out frolicking in kisaeng houses.status: does not and never will have a good relationship with haeryeong only for the pure fact that she’s a female and probably useless.
first lady byun, Ong seulki, age forty seven.first wife to duke byun, they got married when she was only twenty one, she’s the current lady of the house and the mother to her three kids, sangwook and a set of twins [ currently open ]. A very mellow lady, soft spoken and very laid back. However due to their union being an arrange marriage, seulki was never lord byun’s favourite.status: Despite haeryeong not being her own child, she treats her just like how she would treat her own daughter. They have a very good relationship between them.
second lady byun, hwan heebin, age forty five.second wife to duke byun, they got married when she was twenty six, she was the forbidden love lord byun tried to keep as an secret, but nothing stays a secret in the ton. They got married six years after his first marriage to his first wife. They had a child, haeryeong who was six by then. A very sharp lady, somewhat cunning but not to a point of bad/mean, she just makes sure haeryeong does not lose out to her siblings. She’s also lord byun’s most favourite.status: they have a good relationship, haeryeong doesn’t necessarily agree with most of the things she does.
